Motivation for Bad Days

Well….I have to be honest, it was especially hard to get this post finished. Is that weird? I mean all of my posts are less than two-thousand words. How could it possibly be hard to write that much? Building new habits is always a challenge, particularly healthy ones. Then again, maybe that’s just me.
As I wrote this post, it was just strangely arduous to get it done. So, it got me thinking. How does one push past the “bad day blues” and accomplish the tasks they need to? There’s no doubt in my mind this is something that’s developed through trial and error. In fact, I feel as though I’m in that trial and error right now.

Don’t get me wrong, I expected on some level that jumping back into blogging consistently would come with some roadblocks, but the level of mental pushback from my own doubts and fears is almost ridiculous. I’ll be honest, I nearly threw in the towel and decided to skip posting today altogether. The keyword is "nearly".
Something that helps me to get through bad days is to remember why I started. A writer’s life is a goal that I am constantly striving for. It’s a strenuous journey, yes, but it’s not impossible. Perchance, remembering why you started can help you as well. I know, I know. My posts are starting to sound a little redundant, but repetition can be useful!
Reminding yourself of your goals can shift your perception and steer you in the right direction to achieve them. That and sporadic solo concerts. Let me tell you, rocking out to your favorite songs in the comfort of home is a definite mood enhancer…..as well as blackmail material. Hey, that’s why I called them solo concerts. Some sights are just not meant for the public eye. However you get through your bad day, I just want you to keep pushing toward your goals. Never stop short!
